Morning,

Todays interesting start comes from being woken by what sounded like a truck with an obnoxious reversing buzzer, as opposed to beeper trundling into the driveway...

This continued for some time, and I gave it away and went out for a look. Nary a truck in sight. What we have is a pair of yellow tailed black cockatoos out there in the wattle tree. Never seen any in Frankston before, although have spotted them elsewhere. Its a pair, and they seem to be enjoying said tree because they're hanging around at the moment, making a mess of its seed pods and flowers.

I'll try and get the video camera out and see if I can't snarf a few pictures, its got better optics than any stills camera I have laying around.

Ahhh, I was hoping for some audio, I wouldn't mind hearing the "obnoxious reversing buzzer". :)

Ahhh, I was hoping for some audio, I wouldn't mind hearing the "obnoxious reversing buzzer". :)

I'll have another go, the original should have audio, no idea how good. But thus far I've had to run it through video capture to get it off the camera, which is a bit hit and miss. I muted the audio, the first thing that tried to play it came out like white noise/static.

Its there on the camera. The capture device doesn't seem to like it, or VLC can't process it. I have to admit I'm in new water trying to get video off this thing. Its only been used for streaming video with seperately obtained audio via mixing desk.

I'm at a tad of a loss how to progress at the moment. Its an old Sony Handycam and I'm in Win7 64. The current software won't install, I suspect its trying to talk to win update, for which I know theres an update update, but I can't locate it at the moment. I'll keep working on it.

Well your mileage may vary... its proved to be difficult getting this thing converted into something browser friendly. As it stands, firefox is only playing audio, chrome does video and audio.

You'll have to crank up your volume full boar to really appreciated the sound... its shall we say understated in the video.

Interesting.. my FF 52.8 (on XP) did not produce sound, but my
FF 92 (Win7) did. The audio seems to be contained in the .mp4
(after saving to pc) irregardless.

That sound is something that would certainly be annoying first

Well.. whatever you did, you managed to get it on your http://
server just fine. I was able to save a local copy of the .mp4
and play that separately.

I use Firefox 92 here and it played both audio & video for this link.

Cute birds, and yes, I can certainly see how that could wake someone up! lol
