The fianncial changes will advantage many who need it most. Starting contributiuons to the NZ Super fund again sends a good signal that we
again have a government that is thinking longer than the next
political poll, stopping some sales of houses to overseas buyers
already will help New Zealanders wishing to buy into the market - and
the reminder that National created a crisis in housing by actually
reducing Housing NZ stock in the face of mounting need, but we now
have a government prepared to actually get involved themselves. : https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/politics/100039478/government-announces-end-to-state-home-sell-off

We can look forward to a better New Zealand in 2018!

Pity they've stopped thinking about future generations who'll have to pay the bill!
stopping some sales of houses to overseas buyers
already will help New Zealanders wishing to buy into the market

Won't make a bloody difference considering the low numbers of overseas buyers Rich.

    - and
the reminder that National created a crisis in housing by actually
reducing Housing NZ stock in the face of mounting need,

Bullshit! There's been a housing crisis for years. Especially in Auckland!

    but we now
have a government prepared to actually get involved themselves. : https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/politics/100039478/government-announces-end-to-state-home-sell-off

We have a Clayton's government foisted on us by Winston!

We can look forward to a better New Zealand in 2018!

bloody hell rich you're comprehension skills are ZERO! Your own so called government has warned us of tough times ahead. you need to get your head out of
your snowflake arse, open your eyes and get some comprehension training from a four year old!

So now the government is going to tell the people whom they can or
    cannot sell their properties to.

That is fascism, by every measure.

Not most people - just those few who own properties of over 5 hectares
    - and even then only who they cannot sell to, they can sell to any
other New Zealanders. Why do you try to misrepresent the governmetn
decision - it is fairly clear about who and how it affects the owners
    of certain properties . . .

That would be fascism as in Canada, Australia, China and many other
countries around the world . . . do you have any argument for your
use of such a term, Bill?

Open your eyes and take off your rose tinted glasses Rich. Winston's government
are hell bent on regulating every tiny thing apart from who can buy houses!

So now the government is going to tell the people whom they can or
    cannot sell their properties to.
Not most people - just those few who own properties of over 5 hectares

So why stop there? How was this five hectare limit arrrived at, and
what is to stop this or some future government from reducing the
five hectares to four, then three, then two etc? Also, what is there
to stop this or any other government extending these restrictions to commodities other than houses? What is the limit now that the
    government has crossed this line?

Do you not know what fascism is? I can't think of a single legitimate
reason to restrict sales of certain commodities to foreigners that
    does not involve national security.

    Bill.
