• One botched policy reversed

From Rich80105@3:770/3 to All on Saturday, December 09, 2017 21:42:55
The LNG government is making good progress across a range of issues,
but this one relates to two of the disasters they have inherited from
    the prevous NAMU government:

    https://thestandard.org.nz/twyford-reverses-nationals-flawed-methamphetamine-housing-policy/

The simple solution, which was recommended to the previous government
but ignored by them, will assist both housing and welfare - NAtional
in its detemination to bash beneficiaries created a problem that did
    not need to exist . . .

But the list of botchups continues - see http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11955065
    and http://www.radionz.co.nz/news/national/345843/electricity-companies-pushing-up-prices-govt-told
    adn related: http://www.radionz.co.nz/news/national/343546/power-companies-told-to-look-after-lines

(National's lip service to "leaving it to the market" resulted far too
often in unjustified price rises, or companies neglecting maintenance
and long term issues for short term profit).

The new Labour/NZ First / Green government has a lot of work to do -
and sadly we start off in a worse financial position than National/ACT/Maori/United Future inherited . . . Some tough times
ahead - courtesy of the stupid short term thinking of National
    Ministers . . .

The tough times can be traced back to the last Labour government with it's irresponsible response to every thing highlighted in your cites. Except of course thestarnded one which is just another load of bollocks from Labours cheer squad.

But then see it's a post from you Rich it won't surprise anybody in this ng.

    Pooh

All we're currently getting from the collation is excuses and mixed
    messages.
No more trees being planted, no more houses being built, I understand
there are several web pages with counters 'watching' the progress.
    And the Pike River promises.
Suddenly the daring do of the first down the drive has descended into
the creation of committees and the creation of a fall guy position for
when the shit hits the fan.
And the children who are in need (supposedly)
I know of many countries where people would enjoy that level of 'need'...
