Funny how the 'protesters'disappeared as soon as Labour gave it the thumbs up. The big question now is how badly will Jacinda screw the deal.

Was wondering the same thing. Was expecting to see "rent a rabble"
from the left to be out on the streets like last time.

They said little when Labour put through the China FTA. Every reason to believe
that if the Nats came up with the China FTA the unwashed hippie rabble would have been out blocking streets.

IOW it's OK when the left do it.

But take heart, Gordon, because now there's a spanner in APEC's murky works.

You'll be delighted to know that the Maple Leaf is right up there in the conference room, along with the other national flags, but, all-too-tellingly, Trudeau's chair is stolidly vacant.

In a world where second-tier countries like New Zealand have become little more
than biddable satraps of global finance, at least it's a start, isn't it?

    (correction: Read TPP for APEC.)
