• "Free" tertiary education stupidity.

First of all, it's not free. It's not "on" Jacinda as reported in one of the daily rags today.

It's on the dwindling number taxpayers. So hard working tax paying middle income earners can pay for the university education of the children of the rich. So universities can turn out even more graduates that we don't need while
    we continue to lack
    tradespeople.

So the taxpayer can fund the education of students so the students can then go on to accrue the benefit of the increased income with which they could have paid back their own education.

So we can fill our universities with "students" who aren't that fussed about being there but "what the hell it's free - lets party on!" and get in the way of the genuine students.

In short, a stupid fucking idea. If the want to pour billions into education put it into schools.

Maybe so, but certainly not while the predictably failed NCEA system continues blindly to foist its one-size-fits-all imposition of its standardised, dullard mediocrity.

Steeped in their inevitably shallow and narcissistic inanity, the élite from among the half-educated alumi of this intellectually bankrupt academic nightmare only serve further to suck the already starved oxygen out of any honest effort towards
    elevating the national consciousness.

If anyone should think otherwise, then they need only look to that unutterable
proponent of such crass mediocrity and coarse narcissism: the gurning, squirming cutsey of this proud nation's very own prime-time television service,
    the toe-curling Toni
    Street.
