    Almost there.
Its a wonder as to how the 'political commentators' aren't required to
actually state their bias with every utterance...
Every TV program I've seen so far in this cycle have 'panels' top heavy
with leftist commentators which I suppose brings joy to those of that persuasion and when (shock, horror) their unimagined happens and the
other side gets in what excuses do their 'paneled biased' have to say to
    avoid lynching ?

Years ago I once asked a radio presenter - and, btw, National Party member - why his top-rating programme featured so few right-wing commentators. "We welcome all and any of them," he replied, "but most of them want money for it."

I returned him a quizzical look.

"That's right," he said puckishly; "they think their views are tradable for cash, but are too thick to understand we're not a commercial operation."

Thus the perennial venality of the right, some might say.

I, of course, couldn't possibly comment!

yup. However after the petition to remove the supposedly overly biased
Hosking he's proved to be the best of the mediators. Hell he gave both
Jacinda and Bill stick for failings last night. Pity Rich couldn't see
it because of the bad reception under his bridge :)

    Pooh

Except that every 'news/media' outlet has unashamedly run on their bias. Background colours during interviews.
Photos showing subject in an awkward pose.
Newspaper morgues are full of such photos.
'exasperated' interviewers asking the same question and expecting a
    different answer..

And further on the bias proof:
    As quoted:

Research showed that from August 5-20 there were 94 images of the two
    major party leaders. English featured in 23 images (24.5 per cent);
Ardern featured in 71 images (75.5 per cent). English had 13.3 per cent
of front-page images to Ardern's 86.6 per cent.

This is in part the nature of the media beast. In this election
English is the incumbent and Ardern is seeking to displace him.

Ardern is the new fresh face and clearly has charisma and that is
newsworthy in itself because the Parliamentary Labour leaders since
Clark have not. English is an old hand so therefore far less
    newsworthy.

Yes; and 'Jacindamania' is solely a media construct, having flowed on to such as the Guardian which has been giving comprehensive daily updates on New Zealand's general election.

These have embraced the issues with a level of journalistic elegance and coherence that put the clumsy Barry Soper's ignorance of even the most rudimentary punctuation and syntax to shame.
