The blogger is slightly surprised that Finlayson is actively trying to
mislead the public - he though Finlayson was bettter than that. That
is I believe remarkeably generaous to an able man whose soaul has been
sold for a ministerial salary - this is the same Finlayson that
started out giving honest approasals of whether legislation met
certain legal requirements (such as complying with human rights) -
when too many bills didn't, he helped ensure that contentious matters
were inserted into draft legislation after he had given his report,
and then in later cases he just didn't report. _Appearing_ honest has
always been part of both Bill English and Chris Finlayson's carefully
nurtured public image - actually being honest was never a part of
their reality.
