National will breathe a sigh of relief - English will be able to say
that he cannot comment on a case that is under investigation (it
doesn't have to be true; but lies are bread and butter for National,
but he loses whenever he says anything these days)

The opposition will be pleased that the obvious is being acted on -
and hoping for a quick resolution

Most other people will be glad to know that the police are not
entirely in the pockets of government who set their budgets.

Not like when Helen Clark was hanging out Peter Doone to dry, eh?

No wonder the cops wouldn't touch the Helen Clark speeding motorcade case - too
    career limiting.

Not even slightly and no more than any previous government, why do you have to >make up stuff like that?

    Tony

Nothing made up, Tony. There have been comments about the comparison
with the reaction of police to the "cup of tea" tape incident, where
there appeared to be excessive zeal. The reputation of the police was
affected, and the fact that theis investigation had been stopped was
being commented on - I think reopening the investigation will go a
long way to restoring hte reputation of the police. Why do you always mis-interpret what other posters are saying?

Of course it is made up - there is no evidence at all that the Police are corrupt and your repeated accusations only make you look silly.
