• Supporters tell English he has made a mistake

Its about as mild a criticism as The Herald thinks it can get away,
but its also a clear indication that Audrey Young thinks Bill is
    jeopardising the next election: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/politics/news/article.cfm?c_id=280&objectid=11831080

But not even appearing to have met the principles of justice is
ultimately a damning indictment on any politician. He had his
opportunities and threw them away - putting self interest ahead of the interests of the country is an appalling indioctment on any
politician, but especially of a prime minister.

There is however still time for him to change his mind - all he has to
do is 'find' some evidence that had not previously been brought to his attention, and set up an inquiry. As other National MPs see their
chances of remaining in government, expect to see some more subtle
    pressure applied.

An example of a less nuanced response is this: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11831354

While he is correct that the decision makes it more difficult to trust
Bill English (not that it has ever been easy), the call at the end for
Hager to name some of his sources is a stupid call that any journalist
should strongly reject - for a so-called journalist to even include it
is what is given as an Opinion piece is still a serious flaw.

The only leader jeopardising his chance of winning an election is the
libellous angry Andy of the Libel... er Labour party praying desperately
that he can hid behind parliamentary privilege and avoid a ell earned
    multi million bill.

Typical of the loopy left Rich. You want everybody else to name sources.
But when it's one of your loopy left marxist muppets it's okay. Funny ho
you love everyone else to obey the rules you studiously avoid.
