In spite of the ridiculous rules and regulations apparently just as many
people are dying in industrial accidents.
Had an accident described to me where a truckie was permanently injured
just getting out of a truck.
Apparently you have to put your hardhat on before getting out so he did. Hardhat hit the door frame and he ended up on the deck..
Big coverup as the officious tried to blame the truckie who was
    following their rules.

Sounds dreadful, george. I hadn't heard of the rule or regulation that
says you are not allowed to duck your head getting out of a vehicle,
can you give a cite for it? - and a cite for the story would be
helpful as well. Coverups do seem to be increasing, don't they?

George thought this exampe of a truckie and his helmet was a coverup -
there were stories on the radio today about staffing shortages in
Wellington resulting in coverups of poor maternity service for some
mothers. Certainly not everyone will see an increase in coverups, but
many do. Then again the term is sometimes wrongly used. The awarding
of Peter Thiel was not covered up - the government were just very
careful not to enable people to ask the right questions.

So what was the regulation in this case, george? And do you have a
    cite for the story?

Or did you just make it up to try to make trouble for the government?
