• Mt. Albert by-election

From Pooh@3:770/3 to All on Sunday, February 26, 2017 11:42:10
The only huge winner was apathy! Labour only managed to get about a
third of the voters out. Sure it was a by-election but when you consider
how Labour is touting it as a landslide because Ardern beat the Greens
by 8000 odd votes. The electorate has something like 36000 registered
voters yet only about one third could be bothered and Angry Little Andy
thinks Labours ready for the main event in September? Dumb buggers been
    hitting the cooking sherry again.

Yep she was nothing but a carpetbagger and opportunist. She new she
couldn't win Auckland Central so she asked for a nice safe Labor seat
to site in for the next 20 years or so..

You are responding to a troll, Mutley. Of course it was a huge win -
it was won before voting go underway when National found themselves so intimidated by the prospect of a second by-election loss that they
decided it was better not to stand. Disgusted National supporters just
stayed away, despite suggestions that National may have encouraged
them to vote for the Green candidate to get Adern's percentage of the
vote down. Labour and the Greens were able to show how ready they are
to govern with excellent organisation and mutual respect and
cooperation - a far cry from National's attitudes to even its own
    support parties.

National used to be a party that prided itself on standing for every
electorate - they have long since given up on the Maori seats, and the
deals with ACT and Peter Dunne show a disrespect for their supporters
    in those electorates.

Your comments are just silly - if you were serious you would have
    given some evidence supporting them.

Mutley don't respond to the troll. He's only capable of repeating the
vague ramblings of his Baldric like leader. Not enough sense to think
for himself. So typical of the marxist muppets dancing around patting themselves on the back for managing to get less than a third of the
electorate out to confirm Adhern as a challenge to Angry Andy.

BULLSHIT! Mt Albert has been a safe Labour seat for a very long time.
National chose to leave it to the left to squabble over.

National supporters stayed away because the by-election was of no

As I understand it, the Mt Albert electorate was formed for the 1946
election and has always been won by Labour. One of the National
    candidates was Robert David Muldoon.

So National not standing a candidate in this electorate for a
by-election hardly rates as evidence of intimidation.

    Disgusted National supporters just
stayed away, despite suggestions that National may have encouraged
them to vote for the Green candidate to get Adern's percentage of the

Based on the 2014 election National got 10,314 electorate votes. In
the by-election the number of voters who did not vote vastly exceeds
that number. Your comment is so far from what actually happened as to
    be comical.

National used to be a party that prided itself on standing for every >electorate - they have long since given up on the Maori seats, and the
deals with ACT and Peter Dunne show a disrespect for their supporters

That would have been true in the FPP era - but not MMP with a party
    vote in general elections.

Your comments are just silly - if you were serious you would have
    given some evidence supporting them.
