    and the whole Peter Theil debacle - we know from an article back in
    2012 that the deal was outside the mandate for the scheme that
    National used, but we did not know then that it all happened after
    talkes Thiel had with Key, English and Joyce, and that he had made a
    $1m donation to Christchurch. There has to be a suspicion that the
    million was used to boost the amount of money purportedly spent by the government on Christchurch.

    If Brownlee had spent a bit more time actulaly getting things
    happening in Christchurch we would not have reports like this latest declaration of incompetence - its a shame the report wasn't out
    earlir, but there is a limit to even NAtional's abilityto hide from
    the reality of their own incompetence
