Our PM had a smart discussion with the US President.
No point in pissing Trump off, let everything settle, Trump will go
    too far soon I think.

Would that be to far as defined by a discredited media or to far
according to his foes outside the media.
He is the US President. Bill treated him as such.

The New Zealand Herald reports that, "The official White House readout of the call describes a "bilateral alliance" between the two countries, a description the New Zealand government has generally avoided."

    As well it might.

A "bilateral alliance," says the White House. In the spirit of mutual understanding and cooperation between nations, perhaps the White House could now explain what a "unilateral alliance" might look like?

Another call to a trusted supporter - needed to be done, but as
expected, no problems raised. Trump will be bouyed by the support . .

The marriage of Labour and the Greens could probably be described as a "unilateral alliance" or even an alliance crafted in hell :)

It is irrelevant to Trump and of course no support was given by our PM. He did exactly what he should do, he played the diplomatic game. As would any competent Prime Minister of this country.
A waiting game is absolutely what we should be doing at this time. Trump is showing signs of being unable to govern without bullying and we are such a small player that Mr. English should bide his time.
    Congratulations to him!

With Laila Horror, Wally Jackson and Matt "Buy my life insurance" McCarten all now aboard, Labour can just be renamed "Alliance Party". They're only missing Jim Anderton and Sandra Lee and it's a complete set!

Doubt if Jim Anderton would want to be with the current party. They're
probably to far left for him.
