Interesting read. The two examples are in clear breach of the benefit
rules because they're picking up $40 a day by their own admittance. Why
do they do it? To buy cigarettes and food. Hell if they gave up
cigarettes they'd be about $27 a day better off. On top of that if they
got off their arse they'd have more time to job search (which is a
    requirement of a benefit).

Both are the victims of their own bad decisions not as Rich and Labour
would have us believe government ineptitude! Hell one of them has been
begging since Richie's inglorious Liebor party's screwing of the New
    Zealand taxpayer 1999-2008.

They are begging because people give them money for it and that's the end of the story. If people would just stop, then these people would instead be seeking help from City Mission, WINZ etc where they can be properly helped.

If people giving money to a beggar they are just consigning him to permanent beggar status.

Exactly the same thing for street window washers. FFS people stop encouraging them!

The answer is because they can get away with it. Which leads to the question Why is the Government not doing anything about this?

Answer, they do not care as it does not affect the fat cats income.

On top of that if they
got off their arse they'd have more time to job search (which is a requirement of a benefit).

Once agin the question needs to be asked, why is there no policing of this rule. Easy, the taxpayer is paying and the fat cats pay less than their
    share.

National has to date from then, unless you are a fat cat. Pooh must be a fat cat.

You seem to be trying to emulate Rich. Keep working on it and you'll
    catch him up.

The last mayor of Auckland Lefty Len was all in favor of beggars as
it made Auckland look like an international city and that was the sort
    of city he wanted.
