Indeed we can hope for that.
The problem is that Trump and Putin are very similar personalities but I suspect that Putin outnumbers Trump in intellect by a significant amount. Trump may have run a huge business but he didn't build it, simply leveraged off his wealth; much easier than earning it in the first place.

Trump frightens me more than Putin. He's a meglamaniac and likely to
stop at nothing to show the world that he is the most powerful leader of
all. Not only that, he is poorly informed and stupid.

    Read "On the Beach" lately?

Where are the guys who set the Doomsday clock? They must be gathering
shortly to see if it needs adjustment.

The Us of A and Russia hold by far the majority of nuclear warheads and
maybe if Trump and Putin like each other they might decide to give up the
    cold war.

Trouble is those gurilla armies need to be told a thing or two.

The major trouble is North Koreas insistence that the US has declared
    war on them.
At some stage the fat little freak is going to do something stupid and
we'll see a short exchange of nukes that will solve the problem. the one

China is to busy becoming a trading nation.
The Indians and Pakistanis will continue to raid each other.
Britain and France will maintain their stocks.
Israel and Iran will wave stuff about.
    And Russia will be Russia

He may temporarily be in control of the political arena but only through his overpaid staff. He is palpably out of control on a personal level and It will get worse. It does not surprise me that you see some good in him!
