Didya read du Plessis-Allan in today's Herald on Sunday? If not, you should.Labour are completely out of touch with the people of this country and the only way they will get back in to power is if the elected government screws up or simple complacency. I predict that Labour will fail at the next election and they will do so because they are incompetent. They are into character assassination as Rich demonstrates weekly.
http://www.nzherald.co.nz/opinion/news/article.cfm?c_id=466&objectid=11763823 Labour's problem is profound, they are living in the past and remember the halcyon days when the country was predominantly "working men" and their families. The era when unions had far too much say in politics (they still do of course but at least their grip is much looser). I have never been anti Labour and those like Rich assume that we all have a political agenda or preference, well they are plain wrong. I have always supported the right of people to belong to a union but hate compulsory unionism with a passion - having refused to toe that line in earlier years despite being threatened with non-specific "consequences".

Look polticians sell hope, nothing else. They do not go around saying, the >country is buggered and the economy is totally had it.
Better bury it. No
the spin, and spin and spin the message of hope.

And yet the Rogornomic's Labour Government was all about Free Market Forces >Governing.
What has happened in that National have stolen that ground and there is >nothing else to make policy on. Any Party could be Government as it has been >a period of calm waters.Stealing? I don't think so! The policies were right of centre long before that and since then the National governments have done it better. Rogernomics was somewhat right wing for a Labour government.
Still nothing lasts forever.

Well that is how things usually work.
