It is one of the reasons that Labour just cannot get any cut-through is that the Nat MPs are far more like Joe Voter than any of the Labour MPs. Paula Bennett is case in point - a battler who has got out of welfare, got a job and made something of
herself in the real world.
So unlike the Labour mob. Take a look at their "leadership" material - Little, Jacinda, Robbo - none of them have ever had a productive job. Joe Voter relates
to none of them.
There's someone in the Nat caucus that farmers can relate to. There's someone there that business people can relate to. There's even someone there that battlers can relate to.
That's why National are a 50% party and Labour is a 20something % party.
