• Good bloke, John Key.

Great demonstration by Key this morning in interview with Lisa Owen on
the Nation of why he is the Prime Minister. Even the resident dismal
leftie pessimistic doom-merchant, Rich, would have been impressed,
    although he won't admit it.

He is certainly a polished performer - he is confident for all the
questions he knew were coming (he doesn;t do interviews without
knowing the questions first), he doesn't believe any inconvenient
facts, Treaury forecasts cannot be trusted but results have been
better than the facts show and will be in future, and there are no
promises on anything but it will all be good in the end . . .

He has a constant smirk/smle just to show he is never unhappy, the tie
is properly tied, the make-up professional, the line of the suit
    flattering. What's not to like - - - in a consumate conman?

For some other comments as it went, see: https://twitter.com/hashtag/nationtv3?src=hash

There were slogans for everyone there - if you are a Trump-type he is irreverant to the "establishment' experts (after all opinion with a
smile is enough - certainly better than experts!) . Then the smooth "overstatements" - if you really think all beneficiary families got a
$25 a week increase then there are a few bridges you may want to buy .
. .. In talking tax he nver includes GST, which hits those on a low
income proportionatley harder, and higher Working for Families is code
for higher subsidies for employers to those who realise its effect
inkeeping wage rates down . . . Its all stuff the future - the only
thing that matters is votes in 2017 . . .

Good to see some real questions being asked

Indeed - an impressive pissing-in-the-shower PM, both puppetmaster and
guest of NZ's very own patsy media, itself rescued from the bailiffs
by none other than the puppetmaster himself. (Oh, where's Sackur when
    New Zealand needs him?)

Indeed, it truly makes ya proud to be one of those "hard-working

wealth, but, day after day, get paid to dig holes and then backfill
them while dissembling Bill English lauds their futile, "empty
    calories" as "increased GDP."

    The awful truth of it?

"Over the past 45 years (New Zealand has) been the second worst
country in the OECD for real GDP per hour worked over that period.
Worse than Italy, Portugal and France - all of whom are now seen as basket-case, stagnant economies."

Certainly the appearance of confidence is important in most succesful politicians, as is an ability to communicate complex issues in simle
terms, but most understand and accept that they will have questions
put to them which they do not expect, and at times where they are
advised things they were previoulsy unaware. Key differs from the
usual model in the extent of his open disdain for profesional advice
when it suits him, his unwillingness to even be interviewed by
interviewers who he has found 'difficult" - hence his well known
aversion to Morning Report, and preference for talk-back radio. These
are big differences between Key and previous senior politicians in New
Zealand, but what also distinguishes him is his ability to confidently
lie, mis-interpret and ignore facts. To pretend that all politicians
are the same is the last refuge of the Key-apologists - whatever
horrendous things he has done - they are all the same!; except that
they are not. Helen Clarke would have been eviscerated by the media if
she had lied, dismissed Treasury figures, and avoided questions to teh
extent Key did in that interview!

Helen Clarke was on talk back radio with Justin du Fresne regularly. She only appeared on Morning Report intermittently - your 'facts' are lies!

John Key has learned from Clark being ambushed - he refuses to ever

Any comparison of Clark and Key will indicate that standars have

He is certainly a polished performer - he is confident for all the
questions he knew were coming (he doesn;t do interviews without

facts, Treaury forecasts cannot be trusted but results have been
better than the facts show and will be in future, and there are no
promises on anything but it will all be good in the end . . .

He has a constant smirk/smle just to show he is never unhappy, the tie
is properly tied, the make-up professional, the line of the suit
    flattering. What's not to like - - - in a consumate conman?

For some other comments as it went, see:
    https://twitter.com/hashtag/nationtv3?src=hash

There were slogans for everyone there - if you are a Trump-type he is
irreverant to the "establishment' experts (after all opinion with a

"overstatements" - if you really think all beneficiary families got a
$25 a week increase then there are a few bridges you may want to buy .

MWAHAHA to think poor wee Wichie actually believes the bullshit he posts.
