    not be photographed. But alongside him were an array of weapons
    typically carried by Special Forces. The British and Australian SAS
    are active in northern Iraq, along with US forces, where they have
    been calling in airstrikes to support both Kurdish and Iraqi advances.
    Their role at the frontline has not been well documented, however.
    Peshmerga officers said the New Zealand SAS are also present. The NZ
    defence minister said it was incorrect to say NZ SAS were calling in
    airstrikes or involved in other combat operations in Iraq, NZ media
    reported."

    Note that the NZ Defence Minister was very careful with his words to
    not say exactly what the NZ SAS were doing, or deny that they had
    active invovlement in the conflict.

    Yet again National take us to war without even telling us. . . .

    As it should be! Except that we are not actually at war. And you don't know what they are actually doing there, and that is also as it should be.

    Several years ago Rich claimed he was eligible for the defence Service
    Medal. Posts like this one suggest the claim was just another example of
    his over active imagination because anyone with even a modicum of
    experience with the military would understand the SAS NEVER tell anyone
    what they're up to.
