• The new face of our NZ highway patrol( the other 50% of the team are af

We drove from Timaru (10.30)to CHCH on fri 30th sept in very extreme
    traffic volumes in both directions.

We drove around the CHCH airport bypass and on to the new northern bypass motorway to walkabout
the shops in Kaiapoi and then on to Rangiora.

We then drove through a dead/ dead brooklands on south to New Brighton.

Well there were at least 8 patrol cars and 4 other ancillary vehicles in the police station car park.

Then we went to Eastgate for shopping and home using the southern motorway bypass past the A+P grounds.

Then on home to Timaru (arrived 8 p.m.) again in extreme traffic in both directions plus the thunderstorm rain showers.

THE POINT WAS THAT WE SAW NO HIGHWAY PATROL CARS ON THE ROAD THE WHOLE TRIP, even while walking about town.

Where in the hell has our Police force been xferred to . Not on patrol it seems.

I will copy this to the police minister.
