• FAO Chicken Littles moaning about the dairy slump

It's been amazing to see lefties and greenies whining about the dairy slump - given that the industry is seen as having conservative politics. Just goes to show the lefties love to gravitate to misery.

But never mind - the primary sector is booming despite the dairy downturn. Beef
and lamb have been going gangbusters, and now kiwifruit and pipfruit are joining the party:

All terrible news for the Chicken Little lefty doomsayers.

"Despite the dairy downturn a big lift in kiwifruit and apple exports has boosted New Zealand's total agricultural revenue by $1 billion, or three per cent, in the year to June 30, a new government report shows.

Dairy export revenue fell six per cent to $13.23 billion while horticulture grew 20 per cent to top $5 billion for the first time, a new Ministry of Primary Industries outlook report shows.

So total agricultural export revenue will hit $36.7 billion up form $35.7 billion last year."

So diary drops six percent but agriculture exports rose 3 percent. So NZ is not
as exposed to dairy as some would have you believe.

But the terrible news for the lefties keeps coming:

"New Zealand's economy grew at a faster pace than expected in the first quarter
of 2016 as construction expanded at the quickest rate in two years. The kiwi dollar rose after the data was released.

Gross domestic product expanded 0.7 percent in the three months ended March 31,
from a 0.9 percent pace in the final quarter of 2015. That's ahead of the 0.5 percent forecast in a Reuters poll of economists, and the Reserve Bank's 0.6 percent estimate."

Sucks to be a Dickbot, newsman or any of the rest of their ilk.

How's that wine going? That's another one that will be pissing off the malcontents.
