• Päddy - government incompetence

The Government is now officially politically incompetent when it comes
    to dealing with housing.

It looks as though Gower was pissed off by the CT lines from Nick
Smith - who clearly did know about the decision by a bank to restrict
lending (or borrowing as Smith thought?) to overseas investors.

Join the club, Paddy! - National has pissed off most people regarding
    its incompetence re housing . . .

Or is he only 'official' when he whinges about the Nats?

It is a bit of a laugh - they are of course Gower's words - as you
know "presenters" are not journalists, and they are inclined to take
sides - like Paul Henry, Gower sees knows that it pays to be on the
winning side, and that is not the government regarding housing.

    Patrick Gower:
"What it also illustrates is Labour is still leaking, Labour is still unprofessional, Labour is still engaged in bizarre ruling by committee."

"Labour wasn't ready for Government in 2014 and I can tell you from looking at
this report and the dealings I've had with it at the moment, Labour isn't ready
    for Government any time soon."

And of course "Labour Housing Spokesman Phil Twyford is having a field
day, owning the Government and trouncing them."

Paddy is desperate to try and appear "even handed" with his comments -
its called "having a bob each way," but most will not read past the
ehadline - and you do realise that is likely to be Paddy's intention
(there are very few sub-editors these days) - the bottom of hte

The PR element of news politics are nearly as seedy as National . . .

This 'housing crisis' is a beatup.
The stock has been improved since Liebor were running the show.
Th 'cold houses' were built in the 30s and many families grew up within
the bare walls with some illnesses. A sheet of insulation is NOT going

Nothing in there about Keys children, and far from "get Key" they seem
to be attacking Key, Collins and Bennett - with Key seein as the
possible saviour if he can get his Ministers back in line . . .

How is reporting the wrods of Cabinet Ministers not at least
reporting? (I accept there is little journalism left in an age of
increased government PR and new media finding press releases cheaper
    than real investigation).

Not quite accurate Pooh. I think Rich's hope of a non-National
government rests with a Labour-dominated government with the Greens or
Winston (It is unlikely that Winston would contemplate being part of a
3-party government). Thankfully we are not at risk of this if the
political polls are to be believed (Labour and one other of Winston or
the Greens cant make it), and there is no evidence at all that Labour
has what it takes to turn around the collapse of their popular support
that began with the 2005 General Election (ie over 10 years ago).
