Peters is very good at seeking publicity, which makes him quite a good electorate MP - if he had been invited by the school to see the
problem for himself, what problemnms do you see with him wanting to
see for himself? If this had been a National Party electorate MP would
you have been so condemning?

I find it difficult to believe you're as thick as you make out. Blaming
this on govt. interference as he did was for publicity - nothing else,
and the question about a National MP doing the same is ridiculous also.
Only Pisshead Peters pulls this sort of crap.

From the article:
"The NZ First leader had accused the Ministry of Education and the
Government of interfering to stop him from sharing a school bus with
some children in his Northland electorate.
Peters was set to take the ride as part of a visit to Mangakahia Area
School on Thursday, after parents invited him to hear about their
campaign against the health effects of dust from unsealed roads.
However, he said he was forced to change his plans after a
"last-minute" intervention from the Ministry of Education - which he suggested was spurred by the Government.
So what is the health and safety issue? Do you think the Ministry were concerned about the health of Winston?
You are correct - a National MP would of course not go on a school bus
to experience the effects of dust. Besides its not their electorate,
so why care? But I bet they would love to have the sort of publicity Winston generates for himself . . .
So far no denial from the Ministry that Peters was stopped . . with National's attitude to OIA requests we may never know about
invovlement from the Minister, but they will be careful not to deny it
if there was contact - leaks do happen . . .
By the way, have they built the bridges Simon Bridges promised?

Peters is very good at seeking publicity, which makes him quite a good >>>electorate MP
Really? Winston seeking attention will grab at anything to hand.
Being an electorate MP gives him a few things to grab at. However be
not confused: this is all about Winston getting attention and the >>electorate is merely a means to an end.
Of course he is, and he is very good at it. Its hard to see why he was
given the opportunity for extra publicity on this occasion though:
"Peters was set to take the ride as part of a visit to Mangakahia Area
School on Thursday, after parents invited him to hear about their
campaign against the health effects of dust from unsealed roads.
However, he said he was forced to change his plans after a
"last-minute" intervention from the Ministry of Education – which he >suggested was spurred by the Government."
Of course there is dust with unsealed roads, but many many roads have
been sealed over the last 50 years - with most settements now being
sealed, an many well used coutry roads being sealed for tourism and
safety reasons - it is far cheaper and has a better return than some
of the National has built with very low return on investment. But
Peters will leap at hte chance for publicity, - can you blame the
people that elected him for taking advantage of that?
I have been amazed that peters has not made more of a fuss over the- if he had been invited by the school to see the
problem for himself, what problemnms do you see with him wanting to
see for himself? If this had been a National Party electorate MP would >>>you have been so condemning?
There is no other MP who can match Winston for grandstanding. If all
had gone smoothly Winston would have been totally pissed off with the >>muffed opportunity lost.
Anyone remember what Winston said he was trying to achieve?
"bridges" promise, but sealed roads is a rasonable thing for him to go
for - after all it is what his electorate was asking him to look into!
What is amazing is that National must know that Winston will not last >forever, but they do not seem to want to regain the seat - it appears
that they cannot fin anyone to stand . . .

driven. He is looking for publicity. If he had not expected to be
