Not sure why you think any of what happened over the budget is funny, I didn't. I was referring to the relative competencies of the two leaders, as you well know, and John Key outstripped his opponent by a country mile. Regretably that is what the debates in the House are like. Time for Labour to find a leader for the first time in nearly a decade.

Not sure why you think any of what happened over the budget is funny, I didn't.
Certainly John Key tried to be humerous, but you are correct that it
fell flat. Constrast his deliberate avoidance of debate on real issues
witht eh quiet competence of Andrew Little, who actually raised ral
    issues about the budget.

The right, and the media, appear to "rate" exchanges as if they were
in some way a sporeting match on the basis of schoolyard taunts - I
agree that in that repsect there are few to equal Key's contempt for
everyone else and his determination to ignore reality and the role he
was elected to do on irrelevancies.

I was referring to the relative competencies of the two leaders, as you well >know, and John Key outstripped his opponent by a country mile. Regretably that >is what the debates in the House are like. Time for Labour to find a leader for

Sadly even National's usual supporters see this budget as at best a
missed opportunity. In relation to the housing crisis the business
community favours the approach of Andrew lIttle and Labour. The
deliberate cutting of funding for health and education (on a per
client basis) is worrying for many, and a deliberate move in the
opposite direction from the stance he took during elections. If you
respect deliberate lying, obfusaction, childish taunts and a refusal
to accept personal responsibility for his own actions, then John Key
is th "winner" - but that in itself makes us all the losers.

He succeeded in being very funny indeed but the butt of his humour was no match. I can only assume that you put words into other people's mouths because you have nothing of value for your own.
I did not say it fell flat so why would you think I did? I was saying that the budget was not funny - they never are. The debate in the House was hilarious - Mr Little was nowhere near on song.
Now you are being very funny - although almost certainly accidentally! "Andrew Little" and "quiet competence" is an oxymoron. The Prime Minister didn't need to talk about real issues, that had been achieved in the budget speech itself.

The right, and the media, appear to "rate" exchanges as if they were
in some way a sporeting match on the basis of schoolyard taunts
Ah so you never watcched Helen Clark in Parliament then?
    - I
agree that in that repsect there are few to equal Key's contempt for
everyone else and his determination to ignore reality and the role he
was elected to do on irrelevancies.
You are not agreeing with me! Again you resort to putting words into my mouth and to the use of sarcasm - a low intellect habit that you use aften.

I was referring to the relative competencies of the two leaders, as you well >>know, and John Key outstripped his opponent by a country mile. Regretably >>that
is what the debates in the House are like. Time for Labour to find a leader >>for
the first time in nearly a decade.

Sadly even National's usual supporters see this budget as at best a
missed opportunity. In relation to the housing crisis the business
community favours the approach of Andrew lIttle and Labour.
    Nonsense
    The
deliberate cutting of funding for health and education (on a per
client basis) is worrying for many, and a deliberate move in the
opposite direction from the stance he took during elections. If you
respect deliberate lying, obfusaction, childish taunts and a refusal
to accept personal responsibility for his own actions, then John Key
is th "winner" - but that in itself makes us all the losers.
You ignored the plea for a real Labour leader but tghen you always do!

person that cares about New Zealanders.

Can you find a promise that John Key remembers half an hour later?

Indeed - politics-as-usual by both Key and Little. However at least
Key was moderately humorous in the first 4 minutes I could last
watching it. Little, on the other hand, was humourless and seemed
fixated (in the first 3 minutes which was all I could take) with the 8
years in which National have achieved nothing - never mind being
elected 3 times (2008, 2011, 2014), having come through the GFC and
Chch earthquakes both of which have impacted on the budget like
nothing Cullen (Dr Michael, not Mr Christian) had to deal with during
    Labours 3 terms (1999-2008).

For Labour, the last 8 years is one of turmoil and very low poll
ratings. The way forward for Labour is redemption with those voters
who no longer support them and winning over those who have never voted
for them. While Politics-as-usual is a part of this, what they have
been doing since about 2004 (when National started exactly the same
process) really has not worked - particularly over the last 8 years.

You said "Not sure why why you think any of what happened over the

What happened over the budget would of course include the debate

    I was saying that the

He certainly didn't want to talk about the budget - or defend it.

There is no 'of course' about it. The PM did waht everyone of them has done for years including Helen Clark. Especially when the opponent is incapable.

    I was saying that the
budget was not funny - they never are.
