Would help if they wern't to bloody dumb to do some research before starting
to bleat about stricter controls on law abiding gun owners.

I don't know who or what a CPO gunnery instructor is. I do know what a dictionary is. An individual's idea of definition does not outweigh a

I'd say that a rocket launcher is a firearm but not a gun.

I could be wrong but would say that an airgun is a gun but not a firearm - if so then not all guns are firearms and not all firearms are guns!

A gun being a larger weapon that you don't carry around on your person?

Nope. Rocket launcher is a firearm and/or a gun.

That's stretching things a bit. A grease gun is not a firearm either -
but it's a gun. Same as a staple gun.

Seems to me that all firearms are guns, but not all guns are firearms.

105 howitzers and all artillery (including naval turreted weapons) are guns
to the military and many others. Anything hand held is either pistol, rifle, machinegun or whatever. In uniform it's almost a hanging offence to call
your rifle a gun. Any who do tend to get marched through the barracks with
gun in one hand and rifle in other chanting "this is my rifle. This is my
gun. This is for shooting, the others for fun." Rich claimed to have been in the military. If he wasn't lying for a change he'd have spent a lot of time doing this during his time with the military :)
