    I'm inclined to agree with you that the obsession with minor
    stupidities is a distraction from real events that affect us in New
    Zealand - or even those in America. It is a version of the obsession
    with celebrities; the eager collection of irrelevancies and the
    exclusion of real analysis of decisions and their impact. Doubtless is
    is cheap for the news media. We know that very little Trump says is
    true; but he is to New Zealanders just an extreme version of the
    government we had until recently. Lets get beyond the celebrity porn
    (why he is orange, what he has for breakfast, how often he plays golf,
    etc) and talk about real issues!

    I think it is fair for that to be reported, the real test will be
    whether it is still headline news in 3 or more days time.
