I suppose the answer to "have we run out of things to plant in the past?" is still no. At least this one didn't go for profound or moving, and the architecture seems somewhat believable. The Flanders clan, on the other hand... wasn't it established long
ago that TODD is the older son, and that he's about Bart's age? The ages of the boys seem variable, but I have a really hard time accepting present-day Todd as SIX. With a Christmas birthday that no one has ever mentioned before in 700 episodes. Well,
happy milestone, now let's just end this with a modicum of grace before we have to take it out behind the barn.

    DYN:
...the history-breaking Dr. Marvin Monroe memorial booth at Moe's, six years in the past, i.e. before the Simpsons used his services?

    Previous episode stuff
3F24: Marge's anger at Homer's accidental drunkenness much like that after the similar circumstances at the chili cookoff
9F14: Lovejoy's challenge for Homer to "quote one Bible verse" similar to Homer's task to overcome the spider's curse
8F10: Eight fingers and eight toes, the sign of a healthy baby (Homer proclaims about the neonate here, anticipates before Bart's birth)
3F18: Steamed hams in the credits

    What is the threshold?
The Nascar race ended at 6:47 Eastern. I saw it happen. And yet, still, coverage ran on and on and on, with the prime time lineup delayed by 7 minutes. (I suppose it was an apt number, at least, to go with the milestone episode count.) How early does a
race (or other "sports" event) need to end so that the coverage ends on time? This is ridiculous.

Strange to show a Christmas themed episode in March. :P
