• Notes for ZABF17 (Treehouse of Horror XXXI)

Meh. Now that TOH election commentary is obligatory it's lost all meaning, though I appreciate the laundry list of offenses. Toy Gory: I don't like the 3D
animation style the show occasionally uses, nor the Randy Newman impression, and why bother this
now? At least it had a little of the unapologetic blunt violence of some older TOHs. Spider-verse annoyed me to death, and so did Homer-verse. Lisa's time loop was more confusing than anything, and I still have no idea how she broke it. Also, Star Trek
IV (not Four) did not HAVE a time loop. The credits concept of counting backward (for some reason) through each previous TOH story wasn't bad, but it was FAR too fast to be anything but disorienting, especially since the very first one was a still of a
title card with text bigger than the cast credit. And the entire thing was under 21 minutes, with credits. In a 31-minute slot. That's over 32% commercials. And I see those annoying bottom thirds have been back lately. But hey, I guess it's still Dr.
    Hibbert's voice.

    DYN:
...Homer's "Judge Judy" line in the opening seems to be a replacement? ...ZABF17 (the production code) is on the Radioactive Man toy's instruction manual?

    Previous episode stuff
    4F02: Voting for Kang/Kodos
2F31, YABF15: Krusty waving animals into Krustyburger similar
    CABF19: Vomiting frog prince
7F04, 8F02, etc.: Every previous TOH story, as far as I can tell, gets one image in the credits

    And finally
Whatever that football game was (Bucs/Bengals?), it went into sudden death overtime and didn't end till 7:59, so the real shows are on a 6-minute delay.

Also: Tonight's new Family Guy (CutawayLand, KACX01) also had a Snagglepuss "exit stage right" joke, although it didn't seem to have the sides correct. Later, a very vague suggestion for solving a warping of reality trapping the characters was given by
an obsessive nerd versed in fiction tropes.
