Doesn't that definition make most people 'polyamorous'? Very few people
only have one consensual relationship over the course of their lives.

    They meant concurrently.

Polyamory is usually multiple relationships at the same time.

Ah, 'Simultaneous Love-Union Tolerant'. (I forget the acronym...)

If the characters from "The Simpsons" were to grow old, showrunner Al
Jean said that Lisa Simpson could quite possibly become polyamorous, as
in one who engages in multiple consensual relationships.

Speaking with Metro.co.uk, Al Jean said Lisa Simpson could not only
become President of the United States but a polyamorous one at that. "I
see Lisa as President and possibly polyamorous, [and] Bart enjoying
life as he did at the end of the Barthood episode," he said.

Al Jean confirmed to the outlet that "The Simpsons" will seek to become
more inclusive on the show by bringing on more LGBT characters. Though
Lisa still remains a child, one way that the show could tease her
    sexuality is through flash-forward sequences.

"It's already previously been suggested by fan theories the world over
that Lisa could be part of the LGBT community, despite her young age,"
reports the outlet. "In one particular time-jumping sofa sequence,
combining Christmas cards, Lisa was seen happily with a girlfriend, and
part of an all-female throuple, before marrying Milhouse and having
his child. Another potential flash forward saw Lisa sitting proud in
the Oval Office, discussing how to clean up the mess Donald Trump left
    behind as a new President."

In recent years, "The Simpsons" have featured quite a few characters
who have come out of the closet. From the report:

Currently there are few characters who identify as LGBT -
with Waylan Smithers coming out as gay 27 seasons into the
show's run, after years of suggestion his devotion to Mr
Burns went beyond a mere professional kinship.

Patty Bouvier, Lisa's aunt, came out in season 16 after
previously living in the closet (even appearing on a gay
pride float chanting a song about hiding her sexuality
    from her family).

Clara Hosenfrauen was a transgender character on the show,
    born Roy Molloy before transitioning.

Al Jean's characterization of Lisa Simpson as potentially polyamorous
follows a recent trend in Hollywood to transform beloved children's
characters into flag-wavers for the LGBT community. First, there was
the hashtag #GiveElsaAGirlfriend, which begged Disney to make Princess
Elsa from "Frozen" a lesbian in the upcoming sequel, which was then
followed by "Solo: A Star Wars Story" screenwriter Jonathan Kasdan
exclaiming that Lando Calrissian is a sexually fluid pansexual. In
fact, Kasdan said he could not implement his full vision without an
explicit LGBT character in the movie.

"There's a fluidity to Donald and Billy Dee's [portrayal of Lando's] sexuality," Kasdan told the Huffington Post in 2018. "I mean, I would
have loved to have gotten a more explicitly LGBT character into this
movie. I think it's time, certainly, for that, and I love the fluidity
? sort of the spectrum of sexuality that Donald appeals to and that
    droids are a part of."

"He doesn't make any hard and fast rules. I think it's fun," Kasdan
said. "I don't know where it will go."

Rob Marshall, who directed the sequel to Mary Poppins, "Mary Poppins
Returns," recently told The Advocate that future installments featuring
the supercalifragilisticexpialidocious nanny should feature LGBT
rights as the movie's cause celebre.
