Premise and basic execution pretty good. Some running gags a little overdone. Hamilton parody uninspired and only took, what, 4 years? (If they'd just used that to get to the idea and done an original-ish musical it would have been neat, and would have
left a space for a Ballad of Jebediah Springfield interpolation!) Also, as compared to episodes with sudden magic resolutions, this had almost no conflict
or even a big character arc. Write the musical! Perform it despite the weather!
Good job, everyone,
cut to commercial. And of course... very very very short (21 minutes with credits).
DYN:
...when the cast first freaks out en masse, someone is literally chewing the scenery?
...portraits on the restaurant wall this time seem to include recently-deceased
Stan Lee and Luke Perry? (A more recognizable face seen later is Weird Al, which makes me wonder if the producers know something I don't...)
Previous episode stuff
8F18: obviously
On another note, who caught the repeat of YABF05 (The Clown Stays in the Picture)? As I expected, the dedication to production manager Trista Navarro is
gone, and I think the credits gained that second back, but now there is a Gracie sound! Just before
the shh, someone says "wuh-wuh!" like a catch phrase. (I forget what relevance that has to the episode, and therefore also who says it. Krusty?) Well, I guess
that's the "canonical" version so you'll probably get to see it in most available reairings,
streams, etc., but home recordists, feel free to set something for airing 3 this summer/fall.
