Well, I did like that. Krusty's story was interesting enough as a Krusty career
episode and made a fair amount of sense. Homer's was a fun poke at zealous fans
(of this show and/or others) as well as current TV culture with a cute conspiracy theory as
well. Selman is batting very high still, and this was very nearly current-day full length to boot. One thing that I don't quite understand: what was the point of the biker guy led into Krusty's cell near the end? It seemed as if it would be the bearded
lady in disguise to help break him out, but it wasn't, and I'm not sure what it
means. (Another thing I don't quite understand: why do some of the credits codas and extra gags run *almost* as long as the credits and then cut to a very
short piece of the
theme? Tonight's theme snippet was even shorter than usual. These bits can't run a tad longer?)

Meta stuff
Homer suggests season 4 of Krusty's show is one of the best, though I suppose the same could be said of most shows that get past that point.
The list of current shows on TV includes The Simpsons and Tracey Ullman's Show (not The Tracey Ullman Show, but the connection is clear).
Fun thought on the conspiracy theory
There hasn't been a USA Network for 20 years, so it is claimed; Homer cameoed in Duckman, which was cancelled 21 years ago and therefore did exist then.
