Well that's it, Gunsmoke is toast, more or less. (Odd that it was last week's record-tying broadcast that made a bigger deal of it... then again, they might have been planning on airing that one 636th instead, or given the production order, maybe they
mapped it out while still counting The Great Phatsby as one episode, or maybe that one was just very very short to begin with.) This episode was fine. Not gut-wrenching by any measure, but still as sweet as it probably went for without being a total
misfire. Nice that Glenn Close is still game for guest starring, 22 years later.
