And Bro' Charlie wanted to keep it that way. In the mid-70's he heard that
R&B singer Bobby Womack was working on a C&W LP, and Pride let Womack know
in a very nasty manner that he didn't like his turf being intruded upon. Released in 1976 as "BW goes C&W," it wasn't until its rerelease on CD in
1990 that Womack revealed that its working title had been "Step Aside,
Charlie Pride, And Give Another Nigger A Chance"...
