eli roth remade death wish - who knew?
overall rather entertaining with lots of nasty people being killed.
the set up was surprisingly anaemic - paul kersey's home is invaded when
he's at work, his wife and daughter are shot in a not particularly nasty
way. when you remember how gruelling the attack/rape of death wish 1 and
2 were it's as if roth wanted to avoid this unpleasantness to get
straight to the 'good' violence - bad guys getting killed.

the end of the film goes in a bit of a different direction to the
original with kersey thinking up a relatively clever way to avoid the
police although the police dont seem to really care anyway, they seem to
be glad to have a vigilante out there.
worth checking out but it's no death wish 3.
