Finally, something fucking good! In a universe where Freddy Kreuger,
Michael Myers and Jason Vorhees are real, an up and coming professional slasher allows a film crew to follow him around and shoot a fly on the wall documentary. Takes a while to get into the spirit of the thing but great
    fun when it kicks in.

i found this to be remarkably dissapointing.

So I've been watching some horror. In reverse order:

    Blood Quantum

The one I was most looking forward to turned out to be the worst. A zombie
film with an original (?) twist - a small community of indigenous Canadians survive the apocalypse due to their inherited immunity to zombie bites.
Soon descends into the usual tedious power struggle among the usual tedious one-dimensional characters.

    Host

Allegedly the best horror film of 2020. Doesn't surprise me. An online
seance leads to exactly what you think it would. Not great when as soon as
the cast is introduced you're hoping they die as quickly and painfully as possible.

    Slaxx

Killer jeans go on a rampage in a pretentious fashion outlet. Already been
done in In Fabric (are ideas really in such short supply?), the best I can
say is it's not as bad as the previous two.

    SIDE NOTE:

    In Search of Darkness

A four and a half hour documentary about 80s horror that I've been dipping
in and out of the past few days. Definitely worth watching, would love to
see the same done with 70s horror.

These were my scores for those films when I watched them:

    HOST 6/10 (August 2020)
    SLAXX 5/10 (March 2021)
BEHIND THE MASK: THE RISE OF LESLIE VERNON 7/10 (March 2020)

It is all about the nostalgia but it sure was fun to watch.
