Then, after some fucking criminal got killed in police custody
I've also discovered that defending peoples right to free speech and advocating that saying mean things on the internet should not
necessarily result in them getting arrested means that I must be some
horrid rascist and misogynist who approves of people being nasty to one another.
Come on, most people here have a warped sense of humour, but you've always clearly had a thing about 'foreigners'.
If people wish to take me to task over my exceptionally warped sense
of humour, then fine.

Agreed.
However, I would not call what happened to George Floyd an "execution".
I was as shocked as everyone else when I saw the footage of that cop
kneeling on his neck.
However, no evidence this was racially motivated, and in any case, that
does not excuse breaking into stores and looting televisions, nor any of
the other crimes of these "peaceful protestors" that have been largely ignored by the media.
We really are living in Orwellian times, the double-think that goes on
with these people is unbelievable.

The irony of someone who posts a massively racist Christmas "joke" every
year then complaining about being called racist.
I have a friend who is exactly the same as you - He attacks any kind of empathic behaviour as "lefty crap" and considers his racist and sexist comments as "just a joke".
Here's the thing - on the far right there are racists and bigots who
think it's fine to be racist and sexist and yet are the first to complain when they perceive they are being marginalised or targeted. On the far
left there are idiots who think that eating Chinese food is "cultural appropriation" and whine that the next James Bond isn't a disabled black lesbian. We all need to occupy the middle ground and not strawman the opposition by picking the most extreme example and presenting it as "the
way they all think".

Only the Eastern Europeans!
Bit of an off topic rant ahead, feel free ignore. But feel the need to
vent and this is about the only place I can let fly, without getting
banned, arrested or upsetting fuck knows how many snowflakes.
Well 2020 has fucking sucked. I decided at the start of the year to try
and do soemthing about the awful rut I was stuck in. I also decided to
try and brush up on my social skills and try and be less introverted.
Then covid hit, plague laws were introduced and found myself stuck at
home with nothing to do. On the few brief occaisions when restrictions
were relaxed slightly, I was still unable to do what I wanted, as most
places you had to book to go in (yes, even some pubs) and you couldn't
just go up and talk to other people, due to social distancing requirements.
To say I have never felt so utterly demoralised in my entire life would
be an understatement.
Then, after some fucking criminal got killed in police custody, the
world erupted in race riots and I found that by merely pointing out that looting stores, burning buildings and destroying neighbourhoods was
perhaps not the best way in getting your point accross if you wished to demonstrate about something, meant you must be a white supremecist.
I also discovered, that provided you were on the left side of the
political spectrum, you could burn buildings, steal, attack police with
rocks and try to destroy govt buildings and even war memorials and
behave in whatever laweless manner you liked and the press would refer
to you as a "peaceful protester" and would skip over most of your bad behaviour whilst prosecutors, for the most part, would simply refuse to
press charges.
Hell you can even take over entire city blocks, cut off roads, extort buisniesses within and have armed patrols shooting people and the media
and prosecutors will look the other way.
Whereas, anyone not on the far left couldn't evebn so much as take a
leak behind a bush without being branded a far right, nazi extremist.
Defend yourself against rioters, YOU get arrested, whilst the people
smashing up buildings and seeking to do harm are canonised.
I've also discovered that defending peoples right to free speech and advocating that saying mean things on the internet should not
necessarily result in them getting arrested means that I must be some
horrid rascist and misogynist who approves of people being nasty to one another.
I'm not holding out much hope for 2021 being much better, but we'll see
on that front. I'd be happier if I could just go down the pub like I
used to.

Well this post aged like milk.
If you are going to get upset about something happening an ocean away from you, how about
the planet's billionaires getting 25% richer during a fucking global pandemic?
All this other bullshit is just how they keep you compliant.

Let me rephrase.
If you're on the political left, you can burn buildings, take over
entire city blocks, kill people, attack law enforcement and the media
will call you a "peaceful protester".
But, if you're on the political right and misbehave, you're a terrorist
(and believe me, I am not defending what any of those idiots did at the Capitol the other day, just pretty appalled at the huge case of double standards and selective outrage at play)
If you are going to get upset about something happening an ocean away
from you, how about the planet's billionaires getting 25% richer during
a fucking global pandemic?
I'm upset because anarcho communists on our side of the pond have been
using events over there to pull that same shit over here, yet are lauded
as "peaceful protesters".
I'm upset, becsause anyone not on board with the far left gets called a
Nazi.
I'm upset because Orwell was right.
As for the billionaires getting richer, I don't like it at all, but what
do you suggest I do about it?
All this other bullshit is just how they keep you compliant.
Not sure what you're on about here?

When I see people stealing TVs from stores, setting buildings on fire
and attacking police and the press reffering to this as a "mostly
peaceful protest" I think most people would question what on earth these journalists have been smoking.
Similarly, when a group of far-left activists can take over a 6 block
area of Seattle, turn it into something that resembles a scene from
"Escape from New York", with the full blessing of the local government,
and is portrayed by the media as some sort of "hippy commune", something isn't right. It was only after a couple of kids got shot and killed the council pulled the plug and finally sent the cops in to maintain order.

BLM and antifa seem to like burning things down and looting and
destroying everything, which is why they get tear gassed.
Try familairising yourself with the nightly riots going on in Portland
Oregon since last March, where Antifa and BLM supporters have repeatedly
been trying to set fire and destroy police stations and courthouses and
the district attorney refuses to prosecute anhyone arrested?
No outrage from anywhere.
Compare that to the idiocy of those Trump supporters who foirced their
way into the capitol the other week, who broke a few windows made a bit
of a mess and posed for a bunch of stupid selfies. Suddenly everyone
loses their mind.
"Anarcho communists"? Are you a Fox News presenter?
Nope, never watch it.
As opposed to anyone not on board with the far right getting called an anarcho communist?
By whom?

I would also add that a cursory glance at George Floyd's criminal record should leave no one in any doubt this guy was a piece of shit.
Of course, that does not mean he deserved to be killed at the hands of an over zealous cop. But is this really a person who should be held up as a martyr?
The cop responsible for his death needs to be dealt with by the justice system, but to use this incident as an excuse to justify anarchy? No way
and I'm pretty appalled at how this has been covered by the media in general.
In any case, why were people in this country protesting and attacking
cops over something that happened in America? But pointing this out, or
the fact that we're in the middle of a global pandemic and shouldn't be
going out in mass gatherings apparently makes you the next Hitler, or Grand Wizzard.

But defending someone else's right to say things that I may not agree

I do not attack all empathic behaviour as "lefty crap", I simply don't believe saying things that others disagree with, or find offensive,
should necessarily be reason enough to have someone arrested, fired, or tracked down or beaten up.
I just find it beggars belief that these so called "empathic lefties",
who think they're morally superior by calling out what they perceive as
"mean behaviour" are perfectly fine with looting, rioting, arson etc when it's THEIR side doing it (until the bricks come through their windows of course).
These fuckers are the worst bunch of hypocrites going.
