I spent the last two nights watching this four hour plus documentary
about horror films in the 80's and it was a lot of fun. There are
talking heads aplenty; directors, writers, fans, FX artists and so on.
Clips from the films are shown as well. The major franchises, Friday the
13th, Halloween and Nightmare on Elm Street are well represented.

This is a big dose of nostalgia. Maybe there were one or two anecdotes
that I hadn't heard prior to watching the documentary but I've seen all
the films so I didn't come away with anything but that warm feeling of nostalgia.

After awhile, it becomes ONLY slipshod, half-assed sequels & nothing of any kind of original content. They practically shoot several loads off celebrating pieces-of-shit that were franchised repeats.

It was okay, but wow am I glad that I didn't do one of those pricey
Gofundme deals on it. You would have a better time, and learn just as
much, watching a 4 hour trailer comp. Particularly Garagehouse's TRAILER TRAUMA VOL 2 or those VIDEO NASTIES:THE DEFINITIVE GUIDE compilations.

While I agree that some of the franchises outstayed their welcome it
wasn't until later in the decade that films such as HELLRAISER, SANTA
SANGRE and CHILD'S PLAY were released. There was at least some
    innovation and creativity on screen.
