Yes, James Cameron's finest film has hit UK BD.
The story in a nutshell. A tourist resort in the carribean finds
themselves being attacked by flying Piranha fish, that can live out of
the water. Whilst the local police cheif, played by Lance Henricksen,
tries to stop them.
The BD comes in a nice slipcase, with the US artwork and title "Piranha
2 : The Spawning" on it. The Blu-Ray cover however has reversible
artwork, with the US art and title on one side, and the UK title
"Piranha 2 : Flying Killers" on the other.
Extras are a little sparse, containing only a trailer. Was delighted to
see the trailer had the Flying Killers title on it, but was dissapointed
that it appeared to have been downloaded off YouTube, judging by the
extremely low resolution of it.
I mean, why is it no one seems to bother remastering the trailers for
their releases these days? DVD trailers were taken from the original
35mm trailer reels, whereas BD trailers now seem to be low-res crap
swiped off the internet. Companies seem to go to all this trouble to
make the film look as good as possible, yet put no effort into the
trailers?
This aside, I was also very pleased to see that the print the Blu-Ray
was mastered from had the "Flying Killers" sub-title on it, which
delighted me no end. Always preffered that one to The Spawning, which
just seemed dull.
