Boz played a blinder yesterday, announced the pub closures as I was
travelling home from work. There was confusion as to whether the closure applied to or after Friday night but I took no chances. Quick bath and I
was heading to my regular haunt, which I have referred to as THE WINCHESTER
for years on account of the fact that I always end up there. Fucker was
closed! Spoons a couple of doors down was open, much quieter than it
usually is even at breakfast time. Signs on each table warning us to leave
the bar area as soon as we were served, not change tables and keep our
distance from staff/other customers. Cool as fuck. My next favourite pub,
where you're guaranteed to hear The Smiths or Joy Division if you stay for
half an hour was alsc closed. The local irish bar was obviously open but I could only have one drink before they started playing northern cunting
soul. My last option was the local football hooligan's pub, which is also
my third favourite. Rough as fuck. As soon as you sit down someone comes
over and tries to sell you lipsticks they've just shoplifted. Usually but
not tonight. This one actually looks a lot like THE WINCHESTER inside, but filthy. They were actually putting the shutters down as we sat drinking
