I don't get Cage at all. He is so unbelievably shit in every film, I
don't get why he is cast.

I thought that "Mom & Dad" was his low point until I saw this.

Is he doing some kind of hidden camera thing where he just sees how far
he can take it before someone calls him out?

He's the Taylor Swift of filmdom where it's chic to be shit!!

He has acquired a certain "cool" cachet in inverse proportion to his increasingly crappy quality through the years!!
    I can't explain it!!
Ask the resident fanbird, White Lady if you can tear her away from the Morrissey play doll, baby!!

Have you considered not watching Nicolas Cage films?

I think the alpaca herd was the most entertaining part.

I think of him as the male Nicole Kidman. Both talented actors (or at least that's what people say) but a cast-iron guarantee of a shit film. Don't know if they're just uniquely skilled at picking the wrong film, or they go out of their way to ruin them.

    RAISING ARIZONA is good though.

Saw this a last years Mayhem Film Festival. Was actually pleasantly
surprised by it, as I thought it was going to be another arty-farty
clusterfuck like the appalling Mandy, but was releived to find it was a straight horror/sci-fi pic.

Was also releived to find that Nic Cage, despite receiving top billing,
was basically in a supporting role, with the film focussing instead on
the teenage kids and a local scientist from the University.

Worth watching just to see Richard Stanley's return, but seemed to go
off the rails at the end somewhat and would have been much better
without Nic Cage, who can't act to save his life and beggars beleif how
he's appearing in a new film every 5 minutes.
