    an entertaining load of rubbish.
starts well as the opening music is by fabio frizzi.

somewhere in america an unrecognisable udo kier visits a bar and takes
offence that the woman he chats up is a lesbian.
she's promptly offed by one of his living puppets but he's then tracked
down to his home and gunned down by the police.

years later collectors of puppets gather at a convention only to find
the puppets they bring come to life and start killing people in a gory
    fashion.

there is a lot of silly gore which helps it be a not bad time passer.

only thing is... in the original films was the puppetmaker not
    persecuted by the nazis?
in this one he is an unashamed nazi, not sure how that made it into the
    story.

That's because this is a reboot, not a sequel. Although rather
confusingly, they are on about still making sequels to the original, as
well as this. So things are going to get a bit disjointed.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, the puppets running around itself is QUALITY ENTERTAINMENT.

I haven't seen any of the others, I meant to check out the first one at
    least.

Not only is it one of the better PUPPETMASTER films in a very long time,
it is a fun, goofy, gory watch. I was surprised at how entertaining it
    is despite the many shortcomings.

No respect for the Puppetmaster canon. Disgraceful.

This is one of those films (like VAMPYROS LESBOS) that I will never watch because there is no way the film is going to be anywhere near as good as the title.

Great fun, with a decent acting role (as opposed to a name value cameo) for
the ageless Barbara Crampton. Lots of gore and bad taste. Written by the
guy who did Bone Tomahawk and Dragged Across Concrete.

with vampyros lesbos you could at least listen to the soundtrack.
in fact the title theme to the puppetmaster film is nice too as it's by
an italian soundtrack legend fabio frizzi
