    a la the dismal new DOCTOR WHO. Token black character, check. Token Asian character, check. Token disabled character, check. Multiple gays left,
    right and centre, check. Obligatory blather about white/male privilege,
    check. Obligatory sneer at Brexit, check. Etc, etc, etc...

    Hate to join in the Gamergate-esque circle-jerk but the beeb's version of
    WAR OF THE WORLDS was shocking. Some clumsy attempt to turn red weed into global warming (red wedge, amirite) and a 100-year-too-late criticism of colonialism. Quite got me thinking about the Dominions, I can say, and inspired me to send a strongly worded telegram to Mr Disraeli.
