Gabrielle Haugh (Jeepers Creepers 3) plays a teenage girl who is looking
after her elderly Grandmother (played by horror stalwart Lin Shaye).

Going through some of her stuff in the loft, she comes across what looks
like a creepy old game, which involves summoning up some malevolent
spirit, called the nightmare man. So she and her friends decide to play
    it and see what happens.

Never a wise move in a horror film.

Needless to say, this Nightmare man is all too real and they end up
struggling to survive the night in the creepy old house, as he stalks
    them in each room.

A mediocre horror film, which seemed like a cross between Open Graves
(2016), Ouija (2014) and A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984). Which is
ironic given that Robert Englund has a co-starring role in this.

Watchable, but there's nothing particularly memorable about it. Robert
Englund is perhaps the only thing worthwhile about it.

Ugh. I'm so tired of this movie. Not *this* movie precisely, but some
version of this movie comes out seemingly every month.

Not to be confused with the underrated 1974 "The Midnight Man" with Burt Lancaster!!

The synopsis does make the film sound like OPEN GRAVES, which is not a
    good thing.

It was already quite stale when WITCHBOARD did it.

Witchboard is pretty good tho. Nothing earth shattering, but pretty well
done all the way around. Which is kind of remarkable considering that
Tawny Kitaen is one of the leads, and does absolutely no slithering around
    in the hoods of cars.
