Ever gone to watch a film, then part way through you suddenly wonder if
    you have seen it before?

Well that's what happened this evening as I settled down to watch Rob
    Zombies "31".

Set on Halloween night in 1976, a group of carnival workers are
travelling in their campervan to their next event, when they are
ambushed and kidnapped by a group of psychopaths.

Taken to a disused warehouse, which has been turned into an elaborate
maze full of traps, they are forced to fight to the death with chainsaw wielding clowns, cross dressing nazi types and even a mexican midget
Hitler for the amusement of bad-guy Malcolm MacDowell, in order to win
    their freedom.

Kind of a cross between The Running Man and Saw, I'm sure I've seen this
one before, although it clearly didn't leave much of an impression on me
as I couldn't remember for the life of me how this ended. Though that's
not to say it's a total loss.

A few familiar faces from other Rob Zombie films pop-up, including Sheri
Moon Zombie and "3 From Hell's" Richard Brake, who is rather amusingly
called "Doom-Head" in this (presumably a nod to his appearance in the
    god-awful "Doom" film).

To be fair, this isn't actually a bad film. Certainly not Rob Zombie's
worst film in any case, though not his best either.

Most shocking part for me was just how old Meg Foster looks now!!!!!

    Anyway, worth a watch!

See, i think it IS his worst film (except for maybe that shite animated
feature he did, el superbeasto or something). Even HALLOWEEN 2 at least
had some interesting shots in it. 31 was just utterly empty.

Not a great film-maker but certainly an interesting one, i'd rate his
    oeuvre thusly:

    DEVILS REJECTS
    HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES
    LORDS OF SALEM
    3 FROM HELL
    HALLOWEEN
    HALLOWEEN 2
    31

Fair to say that the gap between 2 and 3 is as gaping as a travelodge enthusiast though.

Elizabeth Daily is still good looking. One of the highlights of the film
    was seeing her as Sex-Head.

I thought it was his worst by far. As OTT as he usually, 31 seemed like
Zombie doing a parody of himself. His other films at least seem like he
had SOMEthing in mind. This just like him deliberately trying to patronize
his fan base,B which never works. Brake and Foster (both excellent) are
    the only good things here.

As for Ms. Foster's appearance, this is what people in their 70s look like
when they don't have plastic surgery. (And spend a lot of time in the sun, apparently.) I still find her quite attractive in her own somewhat
    leathery way.

I beg to differ. It's a shit version of SLASHERS (2001).

No, that would be LORDS OF SALEM.

At this point, it just sounds like he's doing "make it weird! They'll watch it!"
