• Creep (2014)

Not to be confused with the 2004 film of the same name, saw this on
Netflix and thought I'd give it a go after hearing a few people bleeting
    on about it.

Ugh, I just KNEW I was in trouble after the intro credits rolled and I discovered it was a found footage film. Something I fucking hate. But
    decided to try and persevere.

Anyway, something to do with some guy who hires a cameraman to make a
video journal about him, as he's got terminal cancer and wants to leave
a video recording for his unborn son, who he's not going to get to see.
An idea which appears to be ripped off an old Michael Keaton film (the
name of which eludes me for the moment and cant be arsed to google it).

But, the things he wants the cameraman to record get very bizarre, which includes him taking a bath and pratting about in a Halloween mask. Not
sure what happened afterwards, as at this point I reached for the off
switch. Couldn't work out if the this was supposed to be a black-comedy
or some failed attempt to inject tension and unease as the whole thing
was just very poorly done and was bored shitless.

    Apparently there's a Creep 2, but I won't be watching it!

I didn't enjoy it, but i certainly appreciated what it was playing at.
Felt like an attempt at making the final found footage film, just
showing you again and again 'look how easy this is... and.... BOO!' with
a very deliberate run up. It felt like they were trying to say 'Here's a
film of nothing, no plot, no cinema, nothing of interest at all, but i
promise you if you watch it loud enough it will make you jump at least
once, so fuck you'. The fact that they've made a sequel suggests i'm
wrong about their motives though. Shit rollercoaster with a hipster
    level or self awareness.

I watched it a couple of years back and didn't rate it. However, I did
find it quite unsettling, so I will be watching the sequel.
