    Hex (2018)

Low budget horror film on Amazon Prime which should have been A FIELD IN
ENGLAND meets THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT.

'1644, the English Civil War rages. A naive Parliamentarian Thomas and a
hardened Royalist warrior Richard, cross paths on their way to the
battlefield. After a fight to the death turns into a deadly game of cat
and mouse, they soon discover that mysterious forces lurk deep within
the forest. Wooden symbols hang in a ruined church; whispers,
apparitions and a woman cloaked in black. Trapped in the forest with no
escape and a growing number of supernatural threats, they must track and
kill the Witch. In doing so they will face their inner demons and the
truth about what it means to be a soldier.'

It topped my list as the worst film I saw in 2018.

If you thought PADDINGTON was good, wait until you see DETECTIVE FUCKING PIKACHU.

    Pokemon: Detective Pikachu

Don't ask me how I ended up watching this on a Saturday evening, I just
did. The only thing I know about Pokenon is that YOU'VE GOTTA CATCH EM ALL. Fuck knows why (the red wine?) but I found it thoroughly entertaining.

Shame it was so fucking DULL, then. The one redeeming feature is the
locations, some of which look very familiar. I'm certain I recognised Lud's Church

    https://www.visitpeakdistrict.com/things-to-do/luds-church-p748971

and would love to find out where the rest was shot. What a fucking shame
they didn't put such fantastic surroundings to better use.
