Hello all. My name is Dan, and I am one of the members of the Philadelphia film
co-op Exhumed Films. I haven't posted here in many years, but thought this would be an appropriate time.
I just saw on Facebook that Andrew Bailes, who went by the moniker "The Gore-Met," has passed away. I never actually knew him by any name other than The Gore-Met. I was a regular poster here on alt.horror back in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Folks who
were around back then (I see Doc Walpurgis is still going strong!) probably remember The Gore-Met as a very opinionated--but very passionate--poster as well. We did not always agree on things in terms of movies, and I think I recall that he angrily
accused me of spam posting whenever I would plug Exhumed Films screenings, but I always respected his opinions. Later, he had a very cool column published in Rue Morgue Magazine. By all accounts he was a good guy, a supportive friend, and a loving father.
He was only in his early 50s, much too young to leave this place.
I can't pretend I really knew him at all, but I am nonetheless saddened by passing, and thought some of you might want to know if you had not already heard.
Thanks for keeping this place alive. I'll try to stop by again some time soon.
Dan Fraga,
Exhumed Films
