If Isla Morley didn't talk to her lawyers about 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE she
must have at least looked up their number.
Sixteen year-old, Blythe, is kidnapped by local weirdo and held prisoner in
a decommissioned ICBM silo. She is desperate to escape but weirdo keeps telling her he's protecting her from encroaching global apocalypse. What
to believe!?
THINK YOU KNOW WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN? YOU REALLY DON'T! screams the book cover but if you have considered two possibilities: 1) he's just a nutter
or 2) he's a nutter but he's right about the apocalypse - then actually you
do know what's going to happen.
SPOILERS
It's (2) of course and you spend the first half of the book enduring a kidnapped sixteen year old's ongoing miseries before emerging into a not-
very well fleshed out post-apocalyptic wasteland. Not a great thriller for
the first bit, not a great end-of-the-worlder for the end. Not recommended.
