Not sure what to make of this one.

A couple of former vietnam vets, turned mercenaries, played by former US
TV actor turned Italian Exploitation star Christopher Connely and Blaxploitation actor Tony King, have just done a dodgy job for the
military and are out on their boat off the coast of Miami, when they're
    hit by a tidal wave.

Picking up some survivors from a rescue rig, that had been trying to
salvage a submarine when the wave hit. They discover the tidal wave had
been caused by the lost city of Atlantis, rising up out of the water.

Returning to Miami, which now resembles a burned out Phillipino village,
they discover that a number of people, lead by a guy in a clear skull
mask, claiming to be descendants of the true Atlantians are busy
pillaging the area and murdering everyone, claiming they are clearing
the land for the return of the Atlantians and have turned it into a Mad
    Max 2 style wasteland.

A series of stand up fights subsequently ensue as the former vets and
survivors from the rescue ship do battle with the marauders as they seek
to find a way of stopping the carnage and returning Atlantis back from
    whence it came.

One of the stranger Mad Max 2 style rip offs, boasting some good gun
fights. Even though the entire premise seems more than a little
implausable. With Ivan Rassimov and Michaek Soavi in supporting roles.

Think I might give "Hunters of the Gold Cobra" a go next.

Deodato never made a bad picture.

The film RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK *could* have been.
