    Tried to rewatch this one last night. I remember seeing it when i was a teenager, around the same time as LOST BOYS (which is camp and fun
    enough to hold up today) and thinking it was great but never bothered to
    fact check that as an 'adult'. Setting aside the fact that it was a
    blueprint for rubbish like TWILIGHT and TRUE BLOOD, viewing it purely on
    it's merit - fuck it doesn't hold up after 30 odd years. Supporting cast
    are memorable as they're the supporting cast of ALIENS, as is the famous
    saloon scene, but otherwise it's just 90mins of slow-motion 'edgy
    neo-noir' shite starring a poor man's Nick Cave... also that ending?
    Fuck right off mate. I know it's not a 'horror' film, it's a 'vampire western/goth romance' film, but still i remembered it being better.

    Luckily this broad went on to make the timeless POINT BREAK and then
    earn an oscar for some war-porn toilet, otherwise i'd have half a mind
    to write a stern letter to her husband telling him to reign her in.

    NEAR DARK is brilliant. Aside from a somewhat weak ending, it's a perfect film.

    KB can put the reigns on me any time she wants. Woo hoo!
